GENEVA, Ohio – The Marquette University men’s track and field team won its second BIG EAST Conference outdoor team title in the last three years, while the women’s team took third place, on Saturday at the SPIRE Institute.

Amid multiple weather delays and poor conditions throughout, the men’s team finished with 234.5 points - 51 points clear of second place Villanova - to win their second BIG EAST title. They used a balanced effort as only four individuals won titles (all on day one) and 18 finished on the podium. The men's coaching staff, led by head coach Bert Rogers, earned BIG EAST Coaching Staff of the Year.

The women’s team finished in third place, seeing its dominant stretch of two-straight outdoor titles come to an end. On the final day, Terica Harris won her second-straight triple jump title and Keely Knobbe took home the crown in the discus.

BIG EAST CHAMPIONS (Saturday)
Terica Harris won her second-straight BIG EAST outdoor triple jump title third-straight in all competitions (indoor/outdoor). Due to poor weather conditions outside, the event was moved indoors, and Harris set a lifetime-best mark of 12.60 meters (41-4.25 feet) that matched the longest jump in Marquette history (under all conditions) set by Peppur Chambers indoors back in 1992.
Keely Knobbe won her first title in the discus with a toss of 42.81 meters (140-5 feet), holding off teammate Jenna Rosenthal, who took runner-up with a mark of 40.14 meters (131-8 feet).
