AUSTIN, Texas - Senior Erynn James finished 14th in the high jump with a leap of 1.74 meters (5 feet, 8 1/2 inches) to finish 14th in the West Preliminary Round of the 2010 NCAA Track and Field Championships Saturday evening.

"I am very proud of Erynn and how she competed," head coach Bert Rogers said. "It was a very competitive field with quite a few athletes who recorded personal bests."

James, the Marquette school record holder in the high jump, was unable to jump 1.78 meters in three attempts to advance.

Junior Nick Szczech also competed Saturday evening in the 5,000-meter run and finished 39th in 15:11.77.
