Freshman Connor Callahan Places Eighth in the 10,000 Meters at USA Junior Championships

June 25, 2010

DES MOINES, Iowa - Marquette University freshman distance runner Connor Callahan placed eighth in the 10,000-meter run Friday evening at the 2010 USA Junior Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Callahan's time of 31:49.53 also placed him third amongst BIG EAST Conference competitors, following Robert Molke from Syracuse and Benjamin Furcht of Georgetown.

"Connor held his own out there tonight," assistant coach Mike Nelson said. "It wasn't the world's best race, but it wasn't bad either. He ran a smart race and moved up throughout."

Callahan finishes his freshman campaign at Marquette with a personal-best time of 31:49.53 in the 10,000 at the S.F. State Distance Carnival on March 26.
