NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The Marquette University men's and women's track and field teams kicked off the 2017-18 indoor season on Friday at the Blue & Gold Invitational hosted by Notre Dame.

The Golden Eagles flourished in their season debut, combining for 45 PRs, 17 all-time list marks, four event victories, two school records and a freshman record. The meet was a non-scored competition, which means no team scores were tabulated. In addition, MU did not travel many distance athletes as they continue recovery from the recently concluded cross country season.

"It was a fun opener - we had a lot of good marks today," Marquette head coach Bert Rogers said. "We are set up well to start the season on the right foot."
