MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University men's and women's track and field teams are back in action this weekend, sending the squad in two groups with the majority traveling to the Meyo Invitational (Feb. 2-3) at Notre Dame and the remainder heading to the Ranger Classic (Feb. 3) hosted by UW-Parkside.

The Meyo Invitational is set to begin Friday afternoon with the men's and women's pole vault at 3 p.m. Central time, followed by the women's high jump, men's triple jump and both the 5,000 and 200 meters. Saturday's action will begin at 9:30 a.m. and a portion will be broadcasted live from 1-3 p.m. Central time on ACC Network Extra via

The Ranger Classic takes place on Saturday, beginning at 9 a.m. Central time with field events, followed by running events at 11 a.m.

The team excelled last weekend at the Jack Johnson Invite in Minneapolis where Joshua Word broke his own record in the 60-meter dash and Joe Keys set a freshman record in the heptathlon.

The Golden Eagles had great success off the track as well, with Maya Marion and William Eggers sweeping BIG EAST Field Athlete of the Week honors on both the women's and men's side.

Following this weekend, Marquette will head to Allendale, Mich. to compete at the GVSU BIG Meet (Feb. 9) hosted by Grand Valley State.
