MU's Rick Bellford to be Inducted into WISTCA Hall of Fame

MIDDLETON, Wis. - Marquette University track and field assistant coach and Wisconsin native Rick Bellford has received the distinct honor of being inducted into the Wisconsin Track Coaches' Association (WISTCA) 2017 Hall of Fame and will be recognized in a ceremony on Saturday, Feb. 4, at the Madison Marriott West.
The West Allis native set numerous school records as a prep at Nathan Hale High School where he was an 18-time Greater Metro Conference champion, a five-time WISTCA All-State selection in the triple jump and long jump, and four-time state title holder in the long jump and triple jump.
He went on to have an illustrious career at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he was a six-time NCAA regional qualifier, two-time NCAA national qualifier and a 2005 NCAA Division I All-American in the triple jump. He holds top marks at UW-Madison in the 60-meter dash, triple jump, long jump and 4x200-meter relay and served as a 2006 team captain.
Bellford is in his fourth-year as an assistant coach at Marquette, having coached six school record holders, 25 BIG EAST Champions, two NCAA All-Americans and a U.S. Juniors All-American.
The hall of fame ceremony will be held in conjunction with the 28th annual WISTCA Coaches Clinic in Middleton.
