MILWAUKEE--The Marquette University men's and women's track and field teams resume indoor action on Friday, Feb. 6 and Saturday, Feb. 7 at the Meyo Invitational and the Parkside Classic.

A combination of 27 runners and one jumper make the trip Notre Dame, Indiana, the site of the Meyo Invitational, while a group of 24, comprised of mostly throwers and jumpers, will compete at the Parkside Classic on the campus of UW-Parkside. Both days of the Meyo Invitational will be broadcast on Flotrack.org with the NCAA's top high jumper Wally Ellenson competing at noon CT on Saturday.

Events at the Meyo Invitational kick off Friday, beginning with the women's pole vault at 3 p.m. Central time at the Loftus Sports Center. Sophomore sprinter Brandon Bell will be the first Golden Eagle in action on Friday, when he heads to the track for the 60-meter dash trials at 5:10 p.m. CT. Bell and teammate Carson Meinholz wrap up Friday's action when they participate in the 200-meter dash which is slated for 8:35 p.m. CT.

Saturday's competition at the Meyo begins with the women's triple jump at 9:30 a.m. and is concluded with the men's 4x400-meter relay at 2:45 p.m. CT. Senior Marc DiVerde leads MU out of the gate on Saturday when he sees action in the men's 3,000-meter run at 9:25 a.m. CT. Saturday also marks the return of Ellenson in the high jump, who is competing for the Blue and Gold for the first time since he put forth a record-shattering performance in his debut on Jan. 17. Ellenson, a two-time NCAA First Team All-American high jumper, was superb in his MU debut at Wisconsin. Ellenson set a program record with a mark of 7 feet, 5.75 inches which met the qualifying standard for the world outdoors and is currently the No. 1 mark in the BIG EAST Conference. Ellenson is set to jump at noon CT.

The Parkside Classic will be decided in just one day, with all of the competition taking place at the Frank Petretti Fieldhouse on Saturday in Somers, Wisconsin. The men's weight throw opens up the contest at 10 a.m., with MU's Brett Hardin, William Koeck and Joel McBride all taking part in the action. The men's 4x400-meter relay wraps up the action in Somers.

The Golden Eagles continued their strong start to the indoor season at the Jack Johnson Classic, garnering 10 new top-10 marks in program history, 47 personal bests and seven top-five finishes. Highlights included Alec Miller claiming the event title in the 800-meter run in a time of 1:52.50, which earned him the No.10 spot in program history, while brother Aric placed fifth.

On the women's side, Jessica Parker turned in the third-fastest 800-meter run time in MU history with a time of 2:13.15 en route to a third place finish, while sister, Jennifer, finished fourth with the fourth-best mark in MU history. Joel Swanberg notched a personal-best 4,588 in men's heptathlon, earning him the No. 4 mark in program history and the No. 3 mark in the BIG EAST Conference this season.
