MILWAUKEE - Four individuals from the Marquette University men's and women's track and field teams will travel to the University of Notre Dame on Saturday, March 2 to compete at the Alex Wilson Invitational at the Loftus Sports Center.

The action for the Golden Eagles will get underway at 11 a.m. CT with senior Cheldon Brown competing in the men's high jump.

Brown will look to match or better his personal best in the last indoor competition of his collegiate career. The Springfield, Ill., native reached his indoor career-best mark of 6 feet, 9 1/2 inches (2.07meters) on Feb. 2, also at the Loftus Center in the Meyo Invitational.

Senior Kyle Winter is slated to run the Alex Wilson 800-meter race at 12:25 p.m. CT with the hopes of running a personal best time. Winter needs a time of 1:49.20 to break the indoor program record in the race, which is a little more than a second off of his best time indoors. Jon Shaffer holds the record (1:49.21) set in March of 2005, also at the Loftus Sports Center. Running a time near the school record would put Winter in contention for qualifying for the NCAA indoor meet.

Spencer Agnew will use this last meet as a chance to build on some positive momentum he has established late this indoor season. The senior, who has battled injuries since his freshman year, ran a very strong mile leg of 4:12 in the distance medley relay at the BIG EAST Indoor Championships and will run the mile at Alex Wilson with the hopes of running faster in a competitive field.

Freshman Molly Hanson will also compete in the mile, coming off of an eighth-place finish in the same event at the BIG EAST meet. Hanson holds the No. 5 mark in Marquette indoor history, with a time of 4:53.12.

Often referred to as a last chance meet, many elite athletes traditionally use this weekend of competition as a way of attempting to qualify for the NCAA Indoor National Championships, which will be held this year in Fayetteville, Ark., on March 8-9.
