Freshman Daniel Armstrong, who was named BIG EAST Field Athlete of the Week, will look to ride the momentum of his record-setting performance in the high jump last time out at the UCF Black & Gold Challenge. Armstrong set a freshman record with a height of 2.17 meters (7 feet, 1.5 inches) to snag the win in his outdoor collegiate debut. Armstrong nearly set the all-time school record, narrowly missing his three attempts at 2.21 meters (7 feet, 3 inches) and currently ranks fourth-nationally and tied for second in the West Region.

Junior Djdade Denson also will look to continue his success after winning the triple jump with a personal-best distance of 14.19 meters (46 feet, 6.75 inches).

On the women's side, Terica Harris reeled in BIG EAST Field Athlete of the Week honors as well following a second place finish in the long jump at the UCF Black & Gold Challenge. Her jump of 5.81 meters (19 feet, 0.75 inches) ranks 23rd in the West Region and 64th-nationally.

Maya Marion took third in shot put and fourth in discus at the same meet. The women's 4x100-meter relay team of Arra Strong, Harris, Anna Strong and Cassy Goodrich finished runner-up with a time of 47.45 seconds.

Last year at the Joey Haines Invite, the women claimed four event titles, led by Goodrich in the 100-meter dash. On the men's side, Alec Miller won in the 5,000 meters, while Wally Ellenson claimed the high jump title.

Following this weekend's event, Marquette will return home to host the Marquette Duals at the Shimek Track & Field Facility for the first time since the 2015 season on Friday, April 7.
