MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University men's and women's track and field programs will welcome Wisconsin-Milwaukee to the Melvin "Bus" Shimek Memorial Track and Field Facility at Valley Fields Friday morning for a rare dual meet.

The meet will begin at 11 a.m. with the women's pole vault and javelin. The pole vault will be contested at the Marquette Gym, while the throwing events will be held at the MU Throws Field at 6th Street and Canal.

Events at Valley Fields will begin with the women's 100-meter dash at 1:30 p.m. The meet is expected to conclude around 4 p.m., following the running of the men's 1,600-meter relay.

During the indoor season, Milwaukee hosted Marquette at the Klotsche Center where MU defeated UWM 70-68 on the men's side in a down-to-the-wire finish, while UWM pulled out an 80-57 win on the women's side.

On April 10, 2009 in outdoor dual action at Valley Fields, Marquette defeated UWM 104-83 on the women's side and 99-89 on the men's.

Marquette head coach Bert Rogers and assistant coach Nick Davis both competed for the Panther track and field program as collegians.
