Official BIG EAST Release

NEW YORK – For the second-straight week, junior Terica Harris has been named the BIG EAST Field Athlete of the Week after an impressive showing at the Joey Haines Invite last weekend, the league office announced on Wednesday.

Harris set the No. 2 mark all-time and placed second in the long jump with a BIG EAST and personal-best mark of 5.95 meters (19 feet, 6.25 inches) at the Joey Haines Invite hosted by SEMO on Saturday. Her jump not only ranks atop the BIG EAST, but is 25th in the West Region and 58th in all of Division I.

The Savannah, Georgia, native was also instrumental in the 4x100-meter relay team’s win and sixth-best time in school history. Harris ran the anchor leg to lead the squad to a winning time of 47.35 seconds.

The Golden Eagles will be back in action as they host the Marquette Duals on Friday, April 7 - their lone meet of the outdoor season. Field events are slated to begin at 1 p.m. followed by running events at 5 p.m. Central time.
