MILWAUKEE – The Marquette University men’s and women’s track and field teams will head to the Los Angeles, Calif. area to compete in four total meets from Thursday-Saturday, April 14-16: California State Los Angeles Twilight Open, Mt. SAC Relays, Bryan Clay Invitational, and The Beach Invitational.

Beginning Thursday at 3 p.m. Central time with the California State Los Angeles Twilight Open, Cassy Goodrich and Anna Strong (long jump) will start off the weekend’s events for MU.

Goodrich won the 400-meter dash last weekend at the Gibson Invitational with a time of 55.25 seconds.

Thursday’s action at Cal State Los Angeles will continue with running events until approximately 9:30 p.m. CT, where Wally Ellenson will compete in men’s high jump. Ellenson tied his school-record last weekend at the Gibson Invitational with a high jump mark of 2.20 meters (7 feet, 2.5 inches). The jump was a season-best for the senior, who moved up to the No. 5 spot on the national list and received merit as BIG EAST Field Athlete of the Week.

Finishing Thursday’s action is the Bryan Clay Invitational at Azusa Pacific with the women’s 5,000-meter race featuring Clare McDonald and Kayla Spencer. Competition will continue at the invite Friday as well, with a final schedule to be announced.
