UW-Whitewater: Meet Info | Live Results

MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University men’s and women’s track and field squads return to action this week as the teams head to the historic Drake Relays, scheduled for Thursday-Saturday, April 27-29, and the UW-Whitewater Drake Alternative meet set for Saturday.

The Golden Eagles will send 32 combined men's and women's student-athletes to compete against some of the toughest competition in the nation as they converge on Des Moines, Iowa for the 108th running of the Drake Relays. Meanwhile, 47 additional student-athletes will travel to Whitewater, Wisconsin to take part in the UW-Whitewater Drake Alternative meet on Saturday.

Highlighting the action for Marquette will be the men’s 4x100-meter relay team, which will look to set a new school record for the fourth consecutive outing. The team of Joshua Word, Jay Whalen, Connor Boos, and Brandon Bell eclipsed their own program record in their last outing on April 13 at the Pacific Coast Invite, posting an impressive time of 40.96 seconds.

Terica Harris will be another MU athlete aiming to make history, as she looks to top her personal-best outdoor triple jump distance of 12.30 meters (40 feet, 4.25 inches). Harris’ mark, which she set at the Bryan Clay Invitational, stands No. 2 all-time in school history.

In their last showing, the Golden Eagles competed at the Illinois Twilight, hosted by the University of Illinois. Senior John Krzyszkowski threw for a season-best in the javelin with a toss of 71.44 meters (234 feet, 4 inches), which ranks 13th in the nation and netted him BIG EAST Field Athlete of the Week honors. While Krzyszkowski takes the week off to rest, Gemma Tedeschi, who inked a second place finish in the pole vault with a strong mark of 3.75 meters (12 feet, 3.5 inches), will be in action at the Drake Relays this weekend.

Following this weekend's action, Marquette will head to nearby Madison on Saturday, May 6, for the Wisconsin Twilight and one final tune-up prior to the BIG EAST Outdoor Championships, set to take place at Villanova, May 12-13.
