Marquette Will Compete In The Dr. Keeler and Cardinal Twilight Invitationals

MILWAUKEE- The Marquette University men's and women's track and field teams will send athletes to the Cardinal Twilight Invitational in Louisville, Ky., and the Dr. Keeler Invitational in Naperville, Ill., Thursday, May 12 and Friday, May 13 for a pair of last chance meets. Throwers will make up most of MU's competitors in Louisville, while the Dr. Keeler Invitational will primarily feature runners.
At the Dr. Keeler Invitational, freshman Carlye Schuh will look to improve on her long jump school record of 19 feet, 6 inches (5.94 meters), that she set at the Stan Lyons Invitational on April 30. Sophomore Kyle Winter will return to the track in the 800-meter run after he finishing with a personal best of 1:49.84 at the BIG EAST Championships last weekend.
Freshman Bret Hardin along with three additional Marquette throwers will compete in the hammer throw at the Cardinal Twilight Invitational. Hardin currently holds the freshman record and is No. 2 all-time in the event with a toss of 187 fee, 1 inch (57.03 meters), which he accomplished at the Stan Lyons Invitational on April 30.
At Louisville, senior Alyssa Davis will participate in the triple jump. Davis jumped a personal best, 40 feet, 2 3/4 inches (12.26 meters) at the BIG EAST Outdoor Championships last weekend, placing her No. 2 all-time.
The Dr. Keller and the Cardinal Twilight are last chance meets for those vying for a spot in the West Preliminary Round of the 2011 NCAA Championships.
