MILWAUKEE - Six Marquette University track and field student-athletes will compete at the West Preliminary Rounds of the 2013 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on May 23-25 in Austin, Texas, the NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Track and Field Committee announced Thursday.

Kathryn and William Koeck will compete in the women's and men's hammer throw, respectively, while Carlye Schuh and Sarah MacCourtney will also represent the Marquette women in the field events.

Schuh, who sits 24th in the NCAA West Region, will compete in the women's long jump and MacCourtney will partake in the women's high jump.

The Golden Eagles will also be represented on the track by seniors Jack Hackett in the 5,000-meter run and Kyle Winter in the men's 800-meter run.

Winter, who also ran the 800-meter run in 2011 in Eugene, Ore., is the lone Marquette student-athlete competing this year to have previously participated in an NCAA Championship event. The Wales, Wis., native placed 37th in the 800 with a time of 1:51.96 in 2011, five spots above his seeded placement in the West Region.

Action is slated to begin at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin at noon on Thursday, May 23 and continue throughout the weekend until its conclusion on Saturday evening with the men's 4x400-meter relay.

Kathryn Koeck will be the first MU athlete to compete when the women's hammer throw begins at 2 p.m. on Thursday. Schuh will follow Koeck in the women's high jump at 6 p.m., while Winter will run on Thursday evening as well.
