MILWAUKEE – Recent Marquette University graduates Peter Bolgert and Olivia Johnson have been named to the 2012 Capital One Academic All-District Men’s and Women’s Track/Cross Country Teams, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America. The honor recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.

Both Bolgert and Johnson were Capital One Academic All-America First Team selections in 2011 and now advance to the Academic All-America ballot. Results of voting will be announced June 18-21.

It is the third time Bolgert has been named Academic All-District after earning the honor in 2010 and 2011. Bolgert was also named an Academic All-America Second Team selection in 2010.

Bolgert graduated in 2012 with bachelor’s degrees in mathematics and physics with a 3.99 grade point average. He will begin work on a doctorate in physics at Princeton University in the fall.

Johnson graduated with a 4.0 GPA in accounting and has been doing graduate work at Marquette with the intent to further her studies towards a Ph.D. in accounting at the University of Iowa.

The 10-member All-District 6 teams were comprised of student-athletes from a nine-state area on both the men’s and women’s sides, respectively.
