MILWAUKEE - Four Marquette University cross country and track and field student-athletes were named to the Capital One Academic All-District V First Team, the College Sports Information Directors of America announced Thursday afternoon.

Marquette men's team seniors Peter Bolgert, Brice Cleland and Nick Szczech, along with women's senior Olivia Johnson, were all named to their respective first teams and will be included in the upcoming Academic All-America balloting. Final Capital One Academic All-America Teams will be released on Tuesday, June 21 (men) and Thursday, June 23 (women).

The Academic All-District teams feature the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performance in athletic competition and in the classroom.

The Marquette men are represented by three individuals on the district's first team, ranking them third in terms of representation, trailing only Nebraska (6) and Massachusetts (4) among NCAA Division I universities.

Bolgert earned the second all-district selection of his career after earning CoSIDA Academic All-America Second Team honors in 2010, the first Academic All-America mention for a Marquette runner since 1998.

The Sheboygan, Wis., native holds a 3.98 grade point average with majors in mathematics and physics and competed for the Golden Eagles during the cross country and indoor track and field seasons. He redshirted the outdoor campaign to maintain a complete fifth year of eligibility. Bolgert is second in Marquette history in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, an event in which he competed at the West Preliminary Rounds of the 2010 NCAA Outdoor Championships.

Cleland and Szczech earned all-district honors for the first time in their careers. Cleland sports a 3.93 GPA as a triple major in exercise science, psychology and theology and was the BIG EAST Scholar-Athlete Sport Award winner for men's cross country, while Szczech has a 3.84 GPA with history and sociology majors.

Johnson, who sports a perfect 4.0 GPA in MU's nationally acclaimed accounting program, was Marquette's lone representative on the women's all-district team. Johnson was the Golden Eagles' top finisher in every race during the 2010 cross country season and placed in the top-50 at both the BIG EAST Championships and the NCAA Great Lakes Regional.

The Milford, Iowa native is a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma business honor society and was the winner of the 2011 Delta Sigma Pi Golden Key Award. She has earned BIG EAST All-Academic honors during every year at MU and holds four top-10 individual marks on the all-time Marquette indoor and outdoor performance lists. The women's team co-captain competed in the West Preliminary Rounds of the 2010 NCAA Outdoor Championships in the 1,500-meter run, but took a redshirt during both the 2011 indoor and outdoor campaigns.
