MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University men's and women's track and field program has announced the addition of 26 student-athletes for the 2014-15 academic year, including 14 who will also compete in cross country.

"I am very excited about this year's class," Marquette head track and field coach Bert Rogers. "There is a strong local flavor, with a good number of quality recruits from Wisconsin; many of whom will make an immediate impact in the BIG EAST Conference. One theme with recruiting this year's class was building the jumping events, and the field events in general, and I think we accomplished that."

The group features 11 women and 15 men, while 14 of the 26 are native Wisconsinites and eight others come from Illinois.

All 26 are eligible immediately and aim to help the Golden Eagles build on their highest-ever finishes this past season at both the indoor and outdoor conference championships. Marquette claimed 15 individual conference titles in 2014.
