NEW ORLEANS –
The Marquette University women’s track and field team was honored by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) as All-Academic Team winners, while senior Brittney Feivor and junior Jessica Parker earned individual accolades.

The Marquette women were one of seven BIG EAST teams honored by the USTFCCCA after registering a cumulative team grade point average of 3.35 during the 2016-17 academic year – an marked increase from last year’s team, which was honored with a 3.15 GPA.

This was the 10th season in a row for the women to be recognized as a team and the 11th time in the last 12 years overall.

Individually, Feivor was recognized for the second time in three years, while Parker was acknowledged for the first time in her career.

Individual selection specifications are designed to combine both academics and athletics. To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track & Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.25 and have met at least one of the following athletic standards:

For the indoor season, a student-athlete must have finished the regular season ranked in the national top-96 in an individual event or ranked in the national top-48 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org. For the outdoor season, a student-athlete must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships (including preliminary rounds).
