Tryout Information

MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University track and field will host open tryouts for all students Sept. 7-10 at the Melvin "Bus" Shimek Memorial Track and Field Facility and the MU Throws Field.

The tryout for the sprints and jumps will take place over four practices from Wednesday, Sept. 8 to Friday, Sept. 10. All practices will start at 2:10 p.m. and all students planning on trying out must attend each tryout date to be considered for a spot on the team.

Following all four practices, the coaching staff will consider each athlete's performance in addition to an event trial on Sept. 10. For questions about sprints and jumps contact head coach Bert Rogers at 414-288-5106 (office) or bert.rogers@marquette.edu.

The tryout for throws will take place Tuesday, Sept. 7 and will run through Friday, Sept. 10. Students trying out will receive 2-3 individual throwing sessions that must be arranged with Coach Koenning by contacting him at (414) 288-5787 (office) or michael.koenning@marquette.edu.

There will be no tryouts for distance events as cross country is already in season and the roster is set for the track and field season.
