MILWAUKEE – The Marquette University men’s and women’s track and field teams have announced their 2015-16 team captains ahead of their first indoor meet of the season this Friday, Dec. 4.

The six captains (three men, three women) were selected by their peers and all have multiple BIG EAST All-Academic team selections to their credit, including each being chosen most recently following the 2014-15 campaign.

The three captains chosen on the men’s side are junior John Krzyszkowski and seniors Anton Rice and Patrick Campbell, while the three women’s captains are juniors Nicole Ethier and Alison Parker as well as senior Tatyana Pashibin.

Krzyszkowski is coming off another banner year in which he captured his second straight BIG EAST individual title in the javelin throw. The Mississauga, Ontario native also broke his own school-record in the event with a toss of 65.54 meters, which was nearly good enough to qualify for nationals as he settled for 18th place at the NCAA West Preliminaries.

Rice was a member of the 1,600-meter relay team that took home silver at the BIG EAST Outdoor Championships. The Omaha, Nebraska native also placed sixth in the 400-meter dash where he holds the 10th-fastest time in MU history at 48.54 seconds.

Campbell will lead the long-distance group this year, coming off a solid cross country season. The La Crosse native turned in a trio of top-five performances in the 3,000-meter run a season ago.

For the women, Ethier’s mid-distance success allowed her to dip her talents into the cross country side for the first time in her career where she showed much success for a newcomer. The Woodbury, Minnesota native claimed All-BIG EAST accolades last season on the track, helping the 3,200-meter relay team to third-placed finishes at both the indoor and outdoor championship meets.

Parker will lead the long sprinters as she returns to the track following a year away from competitive meets. The Neenah native helped guide the 3,200-meter relay teams to indoor and outdoor BIG EAST Conference titles in 2014.

Pashibin is the lone member of the group to serve as captain for the second-straight season. She was a high jump champion at the BIG EAST outdoor meet in 2015, following up All-BIG EAST performances at the indoor meet where she took second in the high jump and third in the long jump.

The Golden Eagles will open up the indoor season at the Blue & Gold Invitational hosted by Notre Dame on Friday, Dec. 4.
