"Corey played a big part in the success of the Champaign Central Maroons track and cross country programs. He was consistently one of the team's top runners and helped them to a second-place finish in the Big 12 Conference meet. Corey also individually qualified for the IL 2A state cross country championships and ran the second leg of the 4x800 relay team that set the school record to earn all-state honors."
