"After battling an injury during the spring of his junior year, Zach came back strong to earn seventh place at the Michigan D3 state cross country championships. He was also able to earn all-state honors in cross country during his junior year and during the spring of his senior year, he concentrated on the 800, 1,600, and 3,200, doing all three events at the conference championships. He was the conference champion in the 3,200 and he finished fourth at the state meet in the same event."

Wehner earned four letters in both cross country and track and field at Schoolcraft High School ... Was a captain of the track team his senior year ... All-state performer in the 3,200-meter run as a senior (2014) and the 4x800-meter relay as a freshman (2011) ... Five-time conference champion on the track, including three times individually in the 1,600- (2012) and 3,200-meter runs (2012 and 2014) ... Regional champion in the 3,200 as a sophomore and senior and the 4x800 relay as a senior ... Three-time individual conference champion in cross country (2011-13) ... All-state in cross country as a junior and senior, while also earning academic all-state honors each year ... Regional champion in cross country as a junior ...
