Marquette Cross Country Competes at Notre Dame Invitational

MILWAUKEE - The Marquette cross country squad took part in the Notre Dame Invitational Friday afternoon on Notre Dame's campus. The men came in 25th while the women's team finished 18th.
The meet is recognized as one of the most competitive in the country this weekend, as a total of 19 teams ranked in either the men's or women's USTFCCCA Top 30 were scheduled to compete.
For the men, senior Kyle Saginus led the way, finishing 41st in 24:30. Following Saginus was Brice Cleland who finished in 24:48 and was the only other MU male runner to finish in the top 100. Co-captain Drew Craig finished third on the squad with a time of 25:29, while freshman Blake Johnson was the fourth finisher on the Golden Eagles with a time of 25:53.
On the women's squad, Anna Weber was the top finisher, registering a time of 17:43. Following her were junior Jayne Grebinski in a time of 17:45, and newcomers Laurie Dalrymple and Olivia Johnson in 17:46 and 17:49, respectively.
The Golden Eagles return to action in two weeks at the NCAA Pre-Nationals at Terre Haute, Ind.
