Women's Cross Country Places Ninth at Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Marquette University women's cross country squad placed ninth and the men 14th on Saturday morning at the Greater Louisville Classic at E.P. 'Tom' Sawyer Park in Louisville, Ky.
Sophomore Kellie Greenwood led the women's squad once again with a 17th-place finish in the gold race in a time of 17:52.27. Classmate Kayla Spencer (18:21.35) and freshman Brittney Feivor (18:26.24) also placed in the top 50 for the women, placing 41st and 46th, respectively. Junior Elisia Meyle, senior Rebecca Pachuta and freshman Alison Parker all placed from Nos. 71-74 with times under 19 minutes.
Redshirt senior Jack Senefeld paced the Marquette men (350 total places) with a 35th-place finish in a time of 25:38.99. Sophomore Cody Haberkorn was the men's second runner in a time of 26:16.29 (78th overall), while Spencer Agnew (85th, 26:31.77), Blake Lawson (91st, 26:39.38) and David Sajdak (99th, 26:43.50) all placed in the top 100 to round out MU's top five.
Louisville claimed the men's title with 53 total places, while the women's crown was shared by Kentucky and Texas A&M, each with 92 places.
The Golden Eagles return to action on Saturday, Oct. 12 at the Lucien Rosa Invitational, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Parkside at the Wayne E. Dannehl Cross Country Course in Somers, Wis. Marquette will host the 2013 BIG EAST Championships at the same course on Saturday, Nov. 2.
