Marquette Women Place 8th, Men 31st at Pre-NCAA Cross Country Invitational

The Marquette men and 26th ranked women's cross country teams competed at today's Pre-NCAA Invitational in Waterloo, Iowa. The women placed eighth in the women's Gold Race. The men's team took 31st in the Purple Race. The meet had so many teams, that it was split into two divisions. Sophomore Jodi Jakubek again led the way for the Golden Eagles taking 13th place overall with a time of 20:45. Freshman Heidi Lindeman covered the 5,000m course in 21:38 en route to taking 55th place. Senior Brianna Dahm was close behind Lindeman placing 58th with a time of 21:41. Among the nationally ranked teams Marquette defeated were Florida State (27th), West Virginia (28th) and Villanova (13th). Sophomore Brent Des Roches was the top men's finisher taking 121st place with a time of 25:06 for the 8,000m course. Sophomore David Henderson placed 145th overall with a time of 25:06. Rounding out the top five for the Golden Eagles were freshman Jeremy Williams (167th, 25:39), senior Bo Erickson (175th, 25:42) and sophomore Tommy Schmitz (200th, 26:08.
