MILWAUKEE - The Marquette men's and women's cross-country squads have been named 2013 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division I Cross Country All-Academic Teams.

To earn all-academic honors, teams must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. The MU women's team finished with a cumulative GPA of 3.56 and the men finished at 3.27 for the 2013 season.

Joining Marquette from the BIG EAST Conference as all-academic teams are the women from Butler, DePaul, Georgetown, Providence, St. John's, Villanova and Xavier and the men from Georgetown, Villanova and Xavier.

Following their 2013 NCAA Division I Cross Country Championship, Providence women's cross country took home USTFCCCA Division I Scholar Women's Team of the Year. This is the fourth year out of the last five a BIG EAST women's squad has been named as the scholar team of the year.
