Women's Track & Field Announces 2016-17 Incoming Class

July 18, 2016

MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University women's track and field team is coming off a historic season in which it swept both BIG EAST Indoor and Outdoor championships for the first time in school history. Today, it announces the 2016-17 11-member incoming class, including five that will join head coach Mike Nelson and the cross country team this fall.

"We added some strength across the board - on the track and in the field. It's a well-rounded class," Rogers said. "It's a great group to help us defend our BIG EAST Indoor and Outdoor titles."

The class includes two throwers, a sprinter, a hurdler, a jumper, one multi-event athlete and five distance athletes, who are also ready to compete on the cross country team this fall.

All 11 student-athletes will be eligible immediately and ready to contribute to a team eager to defend both BIG EAST indoor and outdoor titles and boasted 28 All-BIG EAST honorees and eight individual conference champions last year, combined.
