MILWAUKEE - Several new championship venues highlight the 2009-10 and 2010-11 BIG EAST Olympic Sport Championship schedule, as announced by the Conference office. The BIG EAST Championship and Competition Committee awarded the sites at their annual September meeting. The 2009-10 listing has five new venues, while 2010-11 has two new sites.

The BIG EAST Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Championships have been held at a neutral facility since 1999, but for the 2010 Championship it will return to campus sites. Trees Pool on the campus of the University of Pittsburgh, which has served as a league championship host 15 previous times (1983-96, '98), will again be home to the event. In 2011, Louisville's Ralph R. Wright Natatorium will be a first-time host.

The 2009-10 slate will feature several new facilities. The Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships will be held in Kenosha, Wis. at the Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course, hosted by Marquette. Providence will hold a championship on campus at the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex. It is the first league championship on the Friars' campus since women's soccer in 1993.

The men's soccer event will head to Notre Dame, Ind. on the campus of Notre Dame. While the Irish have hosted the women's soccer championship twice before, it is the first time the men will play there. Notre Dame will also be a first-time host to the Men's and Women's Tennis Championships to be held on-campus at the Courtney Tennis Center and of-campus at the Leeper Park Tennis Center in South Bend, Ind.

Golf returns to Florida for the second time in three years, but for the first time at Innisbrook Resort & Golf Club in Palm Harbor. The Copperhead Course has been host to PGA events, while the Island Course was host to the 1990 NCAA Championship that Phil Mickelson won. Cincinnati's Gettler Stadium will serve as the venue for the Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

For the third time since 1979, the BIG EAST Cross Country Championships will be held at a course other than Franklin Park in Boston, Mass. and Van Cortlandt Park in Bronx, N.Y. In 2010-11, the event will be held at Drumlins Country Club-West Course in Syracuse, N.Y.
