Cross Country at Greater Louisville Classic Saturday

Greater Louisville Classic Home | Coach Nelson podcast (mp3) MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University men's and women's cross country teams will compete at the Greater Louisville Cross Country Classic on Saturday, Oct. 1 at E.P. “Tom” Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Ky. The men's 8-kilometer race will begin at 9:30 a.m., with the first women's 5-kilometer race beginning at 10:15 a.m. The Golden Eagles last competed at the National Catholic Championships on Sept. 16, where the men's finished second out of 31 teams while the women's team finished fifth among 33 teams. Seniors Blake Johnson and Peter Bolgert placed first and second, respectively, for the Golden Eagle men, with Johnson running a time of 24:46 and Bolgert finishing at 25:06. Freshman Kenzie Vicker placed first on the women's side for MU and 26th overall with a time of 18:23, while sophomore Hannah Frett was MU's runner-up (33rd overall) in 18:35. The 2011 BIG EAST Cross Country Championships will be held at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park on Saturday, Oct. 29. Men (14)
