MILWAUKEE – Competing at the site where they will host the 2013 BIG EAST Conference Cross Country Championships in early November, the Marquette University men’s and women’s cross country teams will get a chance to run the Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course in Somers, Wis., on Saturday, Oct. 12 in the Lucian Rosa Invitational.
“This is a great opportunity for us to compete on the course where the BIG EAST Conference Championships will be held early next month,” Marquette head coach Mike Nelson said. “The Wayne E. Dannehl Course is one of the most historic courses in the nation. Getting the chance to preview the course before the championship will help us understand nuances of the terrain. We’re looking forward to competing on Saturday at Parkside.”
The meet, hosted for the 27th time by the University of Wisconsin-Parkside in 2013, will feature 23 squads and 289 student-athletes on the men’s side with 27 women’s teams comprised of 342 runners.
