"The evolution of basketball technology has increased tenfold over the last five years, and it was critical in the formation of our staff to have a member who was on the cutting edge of that technology. I have known Jake for the last eight years, and without question, his talent in this area is unmatched. His expertise will allow our players and staff the absolute best opportunity to learn more about ourselves and our opponent. He will have a direct impact on everyone associated with our program. He is in the office on a daily basis before anyone arrives, and he doesn't leave until he is the last one out the door. He has worked very hard for this opportunity, and without talking, he takes an immense amount of pride in his work."

In his second year with Marquette University, Jake Nelp serves as the Basketball Technology Assistant with the Golden Eagle men's basketball program.

Nelp will assist in the day-to-day operations of the office, focusing his efforts on team and opponent scouting and film exchange, while also helping to ensure the Golden Eagles keep pace with the ever-changing technology demands of the industry.

Nelp arrived in Milwaukee after spending the 2007-08 campaign as the video coordinator for the University of Arkansas women's basketball team. The first person to hold the position in a full-time role, Nelp assisted in the day-to-day needs of the program in regards to opponent scouting.

Prior to Arkansas, the Indiana native served for two seasons as an assistant coach with the men's basketball team at Indiana Wesleyan. IWU posted a 30-5 record en route to an NAIA Elite Eight appearance and was ranked as high as third in the country. The Wildcats posted back-to-back school records for conference victories and he was tabbed the top NAIA assistant coach by INBNews.com.

A 2001 graduate of Colorado State with a bachelor's degree in history, Nelp worked with the men's program at CSU as both a student assistant (1999-2002) and the director of basketball operations (2003-04). During his tenure with the Rams he worked with Buzz Williams.

He also owns international experience, having worked as an assistant to the general manager for the 08 Stockholm Human Rights Basketball Club during the 2002-03 campaign.

Nelp's wife, Angie, was a collegiate standout at CSU and currently serves as the Assistant Director of Basketball Operations with the Marquette women's team.
