Howard's 32 lifts MU to road win at SHU, 88-85

NEWARK, New Jersey - Markus Howard posted 32 points and all five Marquette starters finished in double figures as the Golden Eagles completed a season sweep of Seton Hall with an 88-85 victory at the Prudential Center on Wednesday evening.
Marquette (14-10, 5-7 BIG EAST) led by one point at the break after shooting 59.3 percent in the frame, led by Howard's 15. Redshirt sophomore Sacar Anim tallied 11 of his 15 before the half and tied his career high with his scoring output.
Matt Heldt, who finished with 10 points, iced the game with a pair of free throws with eight seconds remaining to put MU up six, 88-82.
Desi Rodriguez led the Pirates with 21 points, while Myles Powell posted 18, including a long 3-pointer with time expiring and the game decided.
All 10 of the game's starters finished in double digits and 164 of the contest's 173 points were scored by those 10 players, with just SHU's Jordan Walker (six points) and Myles Cale (three) contributing off the bench.
MU's Sam Hauser tallied his first career double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds after coming up short on numerous occasions with a previous high of nine boards.
Marquette resumes its road swing on Saturday, Feb. 10 against St. John's at Carnesecca Arena in Queens, New York. The game is scheduled to tip at 11 a.m. Central time and air on FS Wisconsin.
