Feb. 14, 2015
The Marquette University men's basketball team (11-14, 3-10 BIG EAST) dropped a 77-70 decision to Creighton (12-14, 3-10 BIG EAST) in BIG EAST action on the road Saturday afternoon.
Freshman guard Duane Wilson led Marquette with 24 points, thanks in large part to a 5-of-9 effort from behind the 3-point line. Junior Steve Taylor Jr. chipped in 12 points and sophomore center Luke Fischer added 11 points.
The Golden Eagles played their third-straight game without leading scorer Matt Carlino, who entered the day ranked seventh in the BIG EAST in scoring (14.5 ppg.). Carlino is recovering from a concussion, suffered Feb. 4 at Villanova.
The Golden Eagles will have a week to prepare for No. 6/6 Villanova. MU hosts the Wildcats at 1:30 p.m. CT on Saturday, Feb. 21 in the BMO Harris Bradley Center on National Marquette Day.
