It is also the second win over a top-10 team this season. The two back-to-back wins over ranked opponents is just the third time since the 1999-2000 season where Marquette has beaten consecutive ranked teams in the regular season. Dominic James' 16 points gives him his 12th straight game of 10 or more points, 24th for the season. The Golden Eagles shot a season best 65.4 percent from the field in the first half. Wesley Matthews led the bench in scoring for the fourth straight came since he came back from injury.
