BROOKLYN, N.Y. (AP) - Henry Ellenson scored 14 of his 18 points after halftime leading Marquette to a 78-73 overtime victory over Arizona State in the championship game of the Legends Classic on Tuesday night.

Ellenson began 2 of 7 from the floor but finished 6 of 14 and was named the tournament's MVP.

The freshman forward scored on Marquette's first possession of overtime when he hit a turnaround jumper for a 69-67 lead. The Golden Eagles (3-2) took the lead for good at 74-73 when Duane Wilson split a pair at the line with 95 seconds remaining and Ellenson increased the lead to 76-73 with 32.7 seconds remaining with two free throws after faking a 3-point attempt.

Arizona State's Gerry Blakes fired an air ball on a 3-point attempt on the next possession, then Traci Carter made 1 of 2 from the line with 17.3 seconds remaining and Blakes missed a reverse layup.

Arizona State fell to 3-2.

Luke Fischer scored 18 points before fouling out in overtime. Six of his points came during a 12-2 run which turned a 63-55 deficit with seven minutes remaining into a 67-65 lead about five minutes later. After Ellenson hit two free throws, Savon Goodman's layup forged a 67-67 tie about 20 seconds later and Marquette missed a chance at the win when Carter missed a 3-pointer just before the buzzer.

Fischer and Ellenson were two of five players in double figures for Marquette. Wilson added 14, Carter had 13 and Haanif Cheatham contributed 12.

Tra Holder led the Sun Devils with 15 points. Blakes added 13 but the backcourt duo was a combined 8 of 26 and Arizona State shot 38 percent. Willie Atwood had 11 points and 10 boards for the Sun Devils.
