Jan. 11, 2017
The Marquette University men’s basketball program has announced the addition of SMU transfer Harry Froling (Townsville, Australia/Australian Institute of Sport), who will join the team in time for the start of the second semester next week.
Froling (6-11, 260) will be eligible after the conclusion of first semester finals during the 2017-18 campaign. He will be a sophomore when he takes the court for the first time at MU and have 2.5 seasons of eligibility with the Golden Eagles.
Froling appeared in 10 games off the bench for the Mustangs this season, averaging 4.3 points and 3.2 rebounds per game. SMU was one of the teams in the 2K Classic, which Marquette played in, at Madison Square Garden earlier this season.
He played at the prep level at the Australian Institute of Sport and in 2015-16 was a member of the Townsville Crocodiles in the National Basketball League. Froling was invited to play on the World team, one of 12 international players invited, at the 2016 Nike Hoop Summit in Portland, Oregon.
The Townsville, Australia, native was also a member of the Australian Junior National Team that earned the silver medal at the 2014 U17 World Championship.
