Milwaukee - Freshman Youssoupha Mbao of the Marquette University men's basketball team is expected to miss up to six weeks with a right knee sprain, head coach Buzz Williams announced Tuesday afternoon.
"We are disappointed in the MRI results for Yous," Williams said. "His minutes do not reflect it, but he has grown exponentially as a player and as a teammate since he has been here. As always, we will make sure he receives the absolute best care possible while he begins his rehab."
The 7-2 center suffered the injury in workouts. Mbao has also been battling an injury to his right hand and the extent of the ailment has yet to be determined.
The Dakar, Senegal, native has appeared in 10 games this season for MU and is averaging 0.1 points and 0.7 rebounds per outing in 6.0 minutes per appearance.
