BIG EAST Release

Marquette University senior forward Davante Gardner and freshman forward Deonte Burton have each been named to all-conference squads, the league office announced Sunday morning.

Gardner was tabbed All-BIG EAST Second Team and Burton earned a spot on the BIG EAST All-Rookie Team.

An All-BIG EAST Honorable Mention selection in 2012-13, Gardner is ranked among the league leaders in four different categories and owns season averages of 15.1 points and 5.7 rebounds per game. He tops the roster in scoring and is second in rebounding.

Burton has appeared in each of the team's 31 games, earning two starting assignments. He is chipping in 6.4 points per game in just 12.2 minutes per night while shooting 46.4 percent from the field.

Marquette has now had at least one player earn all-league accolades every season since MU began conference affiliation in 1989-90.
