No. 6 Marquette To Face No. 11 Washington On Thursday At 6:20 p.m. CT
March 14, 2010 NCAA Bracket | Viewing Party Photo Gallery | San Jose Ticket Info | Marquette NCAA Central MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University men's basketball squad will open NCAA Tournament play Thursday in San Jose, Calif., as the No. 6 seed in the East Regional against No. 11 seed Washington. The team that advances to the second round will play the winner of No. 3 New Mexico and No. 14 Montana. This marks the third straight year that the Golden Eagles have earned a No. 6 seed in the NCAA Tournament. In 2008, Marquette defeated No. 11 Kentucky in the First Round before falling to No. 3 Stanford in overtime of the Second Round. Last season MU lost to No. 3 Missouri in the Second Round after taking down No. 11 Utah State in the First Round.
Currently, tickets in San Jose are only available to season ticket holders, Marquette alumni or Blue and Gold Fund donors of $500 and more. Priority will be based on annual giving. To add your name to the waiting list, either send an email to athletics@marquette.edu or call (414) 288-4668. Please submit your request by Tuesday at Noon CT and you will be notified by Tuesday at 5 p.m. CT if you can purchase tickets. NCAA Tournament action in Milwaukee, scheduled for Friday and Sunday at the Bradley Center, will include Ohio State and Pittsburgh as the top seeds in their respective pods. The Big Ten Champion Buckeyes will face No. 15 UC Santa Barbara in a First Round match-up while No. 7 Oklahoma State will take on No. 10 Georgia Tech in the other game. In the West Regional, Milwaukee will host No. 3 Pittsburgh and No. 14 Oakland as well as No. 6 Xavier's contest with No. 11 Minnesota.
