LEXINGTON, Ky. -- The Marquette University men's basketball team arrived in the Bluegrass State early Tuesday evening set to begin their eighth-straight NCAA tournament run and fifth consecutive under head coach Buzz Williams, who has led the Golden Eagles to Sweet 16 appearances in each of the past two years.

Marquette student-athletes attended their morning classes as usual before taking part in their final on-campus practice of the week at the Al McGuire Center's Kasten Gym. Following practice Coach Buzz and the players met with members of the local media while the MU pep band and spirit squad gathered with fans outside to send the team off.

It was a quick one-hour flight to Lexington, where the BIG EAST regular-season co-champs were met with more media and TV cameras as the Golden Eagles pulled up to their team headquarters overlooking Rupp Arena, site of the Thursday's NCAA Division I Second Round games.

MU continues its preparations for Davidson College with another tune-up during a closed practice Wednesday morning. The team then heads to Rupp Arena for an open practice in front of fans followed by a round of press conferences featuring student-athlete and head coaches from all eight participating teams.
