Wojciechowski on Spring Signees

Prep standout Sacar Anim (Minneapolis, MN/DeLaSalle HS) has signed a National Letter of Intent with the Marquette University men's basketball program, head coach Steve Wojciechowski announced Wednesday morning.

Anim, a 6-5, 190-pounder, will arrive on campus this summer and have four years of eligibility with the Golden Eagles.

"We had a chance to watch Sacar play this past season and were excited by how hard he plays and what a team player he is," Wojciechowski said. "We believe his best basketball is ahead of him and are looking forward to his arrival on campus."

Anim was tabbed the Associated Press Player of the Year in Minnesota as a senior after helping DeLaSalle High School to a record-tying fourth-straight state championship under head coach Dave Thorson. The Islanders defeated St. Paul Johnson in the Class 3A title game and Anim chipped in 32 points in the final. He averaged 25.0 points and 8.0 rebounds per game in 2014-15 and was the division's top scorer in the state tournament, earning him a spot on the all-tourney roster.

A three-time all-conference selection, Anim was a four-year letterwinner and three-year starter at DeLaSalle. The program also claimed the league title each of his four seasons and lost only one conference matchup during his tenure.

In the summer, Anim has played with the Howard Pulley Panthers in the Nike EYBL and he was selected to play in the Minnesota State Basketball Coaches All-Star Game this spring.

Wojciechowski and his staff have compiled a nationally ranked 2015 recruiting class. The five-member group is currently rated fifth in the nation by FOXSports.com, seventh by Rivals.com, ninth by CBSSports.com and 10th by ESPN.com.

"We are really excited about what we have been able to accomplish in the last 12 months while recruiting for Marquette," Wojciechowski said. "The five young men who we signed represent the best and brightest from around the country, both on and off the court. We believe they will be the foundation of our program here at Marquette."
