Jimmy Butler Continues Action At 2011 NBA Draft Combine
May 20, 2011
Former Marquette University men's basketball player Jimmy Butler continued his participation in the 2011 NBA Draft Combine Friday morning in Chicago, Ill., at ATTACK Athletics.
Butler and his fellow small forwards invited to the week-long event took to the court for individual and team drills before taking part in several skills tests, which included the 40-yard dash and vertical jump. He is rooming with former Georgia Tech standout and Illinois native Iman Shumpert.
"It's been a great experience so far and I am looking forward to finishing strong," Butler said. "All of the guys have been great to be around, but at the end of the day we know we are all competing against each other for a limited number of spots."
The Tomball, Texas, native has also conducted several interviews with interested NBA teams, including Memphis, Golden State and the Los Angeles Lakers. His first stop following the conclusion of this week's camp will be a workout with the Miami Heat next week.
Butler is hoping to become the 54th player in school history to have his name called in the NBA Draft.
