"Championship Friday” lived up to its hype at the Session II Day Camp, as team and individual awards were handed out like candy at a Fourth of July parade.

Senegal and Houston were able to add a tournament championship to their collection after claiming the regular season title Thursday afternoon in the Olympic and NBA divisions, respectively.  The quality of depth in team play was on display in the BIG EAST Division, where neither regular season division winner was able to advance to the championship game of league play.  West Virginia and Seton Hall finished a perfect 7-0 prior to the tourney, but it was Georgetown that defeated Syracuse in the championship game of Friday’s event.

Kansas, which earned second in the regular season, captured the NCAA Division tournament title thanks to some clutch shooting and defense.

Olympian Chris McKenna knocked down a BUZZer beater to earn a free week of camp, narrowly beating the final buzzer, which was reviewed by video replay in the camp offices.  McKenna’s shot matched the attempt of fellow Olympian Heath Joubert, who also won freed camp during Session I.

CAMP PHOTOS: Photos from each day of camp will be available through the official website, GoMarquette.com. Just visit the men's basketball page and click on the link "Session II Daily Buzz." There are a large assortment of photo printing options, including 12 sizes to choose from with four different types of finishes and other options. The password protected gallery (musummer09) is available to camp parents only. Photos of individuals will be available at the conclusion of each day, as will the camp's group photo.

CAMP STORE: Check out the official Camp Store on the main concourse level of the Al McGuire Center all week long. Food, drinks and Marquette gear will be available all week long. Don't miss out on the "camp special," a youth t-shirt and pair of shorts ($28) or an adult t-shirt and pair of shorts ($30), a savings of $7. The store will also feature several "retro" items, including practice gear worn by the players in previous seasons, media guides and much more at discounted prices.
