Milwaukee - Maurice Acker of the Marquette University men's basketball team is on track to graduate in December and will forego his senior season with the Golden Eagles.

"He is one semester shy of completing his degree and we all believed it was in Maurice's best interest for that to be his priority," head coach Buzz Williams said.

Acker will graduate from Marquette with a degree in communication studies and pursue a position in that field.

The Hazel Crest, Ill., native played two seasons for the Golden Eagles after transferring from Ball State following the 2005-06 campaign. He appeared in 68 career games for MU, including eight starting assignments. He averaged 3.7 points, 1.8 assists and 1.2 rebounds per game.
