The Session III Day Camp participants, who more than likely believe they are ready for the emotional and physical tribulations associated with Championship Friday, better get plenty of rest and hydration leading up to station lines at 9 a.m.

Pool play is now complete and each of the three tournament brackets have been confirmed.  Team USA earned the top seed in the Olympic Division, narrowly edging Spain by one game in the standings.  LSU will share the regular season title with Ohio State and Florida, but thanks to a tiebreaker the Tigers are No. 1 in that age group.  In the NBA, the league will be gunning for undefeated Oklahoma City (8-0).  The Thunder better be ready to play on Friday.  In camp history, only 29 percent of the squads to finish undefeated in pool play have won the tourney championship.

Friday’s festivities will also feature a first for the participants as the camp coaches will square off in a game against the camp all-stars before the consolation matchups in each division.  The voting for the camper all-star roster closes tonight at 11:59 p.m. CT and the selections will be announced in the morning.  The “Daily Buzz” staff will be keeping a close eye on this game, particularly the officiating, to make sure there aren’t any shenanigans occurring.

Florida’s share of first place game courtesy of not one, but two last-second wins.  Emmett Leow knocked down the game winner for the Gators with nine seconds left versus Kentucky and teammate Sam Deilert added more drama to his bucket, beating Texas with just two seconds on the clock.  Olympian Sam Cook of Spain also drained the game-deciding basket against Canada with less than 10 seconds remaining.

CHAMPIONSHIP FRIDAY SCHEDULE:  Championship Friday features tournament action in all three divisions.  Game times for the opening rounds are 9:15 a.m., 9:35 a.m., 9:55 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. at each gym location on campus.  Consolation and championship games, all played in the Al McGuire Center, are slated for 12:45 p.m. and 1:15 p.m., respectively.  Brackets will be posted to the team’s official Facebook page (/MarquetteMensBB) by 7 p.m. on Thursday night and will be updated throughout the day on Friday.

CAMP STORE: Check out the official Camp Store on the main concourse level of the Al McGuire Center. Food, drinks and MU gear will be available. Campers will be able to purchase “camp cash cards” for various dollar amounts so they don’t have to worry about having cash. The “Camp Combo” returns and features a T-Shirt/Shorts for $35 or headband/wristband duo for $12.
