MU To Host Alabama A&M At The Al McGuire Center
Aug. 11, 2014
The Marquette University men's basketball team will play its first-ever regular season game at the Al McGuire Center on Dec. 19, 2014 when the squad hosts Alabama A&M in non-conference action as an addition to the 2014-15 schedule.
The matchup in the on-campus arena (capacity of 3,700) developed because of date conflicts at the BMO Harris Bradley Center and the need to find an additional home game in 2014-15. There currently aren't any plans to make this an annual event and the game isn't included in the season ticket plan.
Ticket prices will be announced in the coming weeks.
"Playing in the Al provides our guys with a unique experience and our entire program is excited for the game," head coach Steve Wojciechowski said. "We are looking forward to playing in a great environment in front of a sellout crowd of dedicated Marquette fans."
Tickets for the Dec. 19 matchup will be available for season ticket holders to purchase during the single-game pre-sale, which is scheduled to take place Sept. 29 through Oct. 3. Due to limited availability for this event, season ticket holders will be limited to purchasing two tickets per account. Additionally, the opportunity to purchase tickets cannot be guaranteed. The date and time tickets will be made available as determined by priority point totals as of Sept. 19, 2014.
Student tickets for this game will be made available at a later date. Specific information regarding the student ticketing process will be communicated in September, prior to the Fanatic season ticket on-sale date (Wednesday, Sept. 24).
The Dec. 19 game will be the program's first in school history against Alabama A&M, which is a member of the Southwestern Athletic Conference.
Television coverage and tipoff time for the game will be announced at a later date.
