In an effort to create a new level of engagement within the athletics fan base, the Department of Intercollegiate athletics is pleased to announce the development of the Marquette Fan Advisory Committee.

The purpose of the committee is to not only engage dedicated fans, but also increase feedback from the group related to the fan experience at all Marquette athletic events.

Interested individuals can apply for consideration by completing the survey provided below, but must be at least 18-years-old to join the group. Online applications will be accepted until Friday, Oct. 16 and committee members will be announced in mid-November.

The group will meet 3-4 times per calendar year and feedback is encouraged on each of the University’s seven ticketed programs (men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s lacrosse, men’s and women’s soccer and volleyball).

Fan Advisory Committee FAQs

Why was this created?
We recognize that the experiences our fans have at our sporting events can be improved. Just as the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee helps provide MU administrators with perspectives from current student-athletes on the student-athlete experience at Marquette, we hope the Fan Advisory Committee can serve as a similar platform for our fan base. The Fan Advisory Committee will assist Marquette Athletics with the evaluation and enhancement of the fan experience at our events. We need to know where we are succeeding and where opportunities for improvement exist. We know we can enhance aspects around our athletics events and we look forward to the ideas, opinions and feedback generated through our productive conversations.

Who can be on the FAC?
Almost anyone can be on the Fan Advisory Committee. We will look for anyone at least 18-years-old to join the group. Our hope is to find a cross-section of our fans that ranges in age, connection to MU, proximity to campus, fans of various sports, etc.

Do I have to be a season-ticket holder to be on the FAC?
No, you do not. Unlike many fan councils at other universities, you do not need to be a current season-ticket holder to be on Marquette’s Fan Advisory Committee. In fact, we would prefer there be at least one or two members who are not season ticket holders so we may gain the perspective of people who have either stopped being season ticket holders or have never been season ticket holders but are still fans of Marquette.

What type of time commitment is there to this group?
We would meet 3-4 times per year on Marquette’s campus.

What will be the purpose of our meetings?
When we meet, we would discuss issues that arose from the previous meeting, discuss recent items pertaining to the experience with MU athletics (ticket buying, parking, ushers, concessions, bathrooms, in-game promotions, communications with the public, etc.) as well as share plans the athletics department has about future initiatives. Guest speakers will include Marquette administrators, head coaches and student-athletes.

How long of a term will I serve on the FAC?
We are asking for a commitment of just under two years. The initial group to serve on the FAC would start in November 2015 and remain until May 2017.

How do I apply?
Online applications will be accepted until Oct. 16 and the first Fan Advisory Committee will be announced Nov. 9.
