Milwaukee - The official beginning to the upcoming 2009-10 Marquette University men's and women's basketball teams will once again be highlighted by Marquette Madness, scheduled for Friday, October 16 in the Al McGuire Center.

Doors will open at 5 p.m. in advance of Marquette Madness, with the MU women's volleyball team hosting Georgetown in BIG EAST action at 6 p.m. The season-opening festivities will begin shortly after the conclusion of the volleyball match, but no earlier than 7:30 p.m.

All fans in attendance will receive a gold long-sleeved t-shirt, courtesy of Northwestern Mutual. Each team will conduct a brief scrimmage, providing those in attendance with their first look at the latest edition of the Golden Eagles' roster. The night will also include a dunk contest by the men's team, games, prizes and much more.

Men's basketball five-game mini-plans include top BIG EAST games such as Villanova, Notre Dame and Louisville while the women's basketball three-game plan gives you a great seat for Wisconsin, Connecticut and DePaul for as little as $10.

MUTV will once again provide live coverage on GoMarquette.com, streaming the entire event.  The broadcast will include features, interviews and much more.  Complete coverage will begin once the volleyball match has concluded, but MUTV will be providing a stream of volleyball as well.
