The Marquette men’s basketball team (0-0, 0-0 BIG EAST) will take on Valley City State (2-0, 1-0 NSAA) in an exhibition game on Monday, Nov. 9, the 2015-16 season lidlifter.

Tipoff is at 7 p.m. CT at the BMO Harris Bradley Center, beginning the 99th season of play for the Golden Eagles. Time Warner Cable SportsChannel will feature live coverage, with Dennis Krause (play-by-play) and Tim Van Vooren (analyst) calling the action. ESPN Milwaukee (540 AM) will carry the radio broadcast once again as the flagship for the Marquette Radio Network.

Six players return from last year’s MU squad, including Duane Wilson, Sandy Cohen III, Jajuan Johnson, Luke Fischer and Michael Mache. Junior Wally Ellenson will make his much-anticipated Marquette debut after sitting out a year per NCAA transfer rules.

Wearing the Blue & Gold for the first time will be freshmen Sacar Anim, Matt Heldt, Henry Ellenson, Traci Carter, Haanif Cheatham, Christian Haffner and Cam Marotta. Junior Andrew Rowsey, also an MU newcomer, will sit out this season after transferring from UNC Asheville.

The Ellenson brothers will face a familiar foe in their MU respective debuts, matching up against their brother Ellwood, a junior forward at VCSU. The three will share the court for the first time since representing Rice Lake High School together in 2011.

Following the exhibition, Marquette will begin its regular season schedule four days later on Friday, Nov. 13 against Belmont at 8 p.m. CT at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.
